The GI Map, or Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus, is an advanced diagnostic tool designed to provide valuable insights into the health and composition of your gut microbiome. The gut microbiome refers to the complex community of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes, that reside in your gastrointestinal tract.
The GI Map test goes beyond traditional stool tests by using advanced DNA sequencing technology to analyze the genetic material of these microorganisms. This allows for a comprehensive and detailed assessment of the types and quantities of microbes present in your gut. Here's how the GI Map can benefit you:
Microbial Diversity Analysis: The test provides information about the diversity of microorganisms in your gut. A diverse microbiome is generally associated with better gut health and overall well-being.
Pathogen Detection: The GI Map can identify harmful microorganisms such as bacteria, parasites, and viruses that might be causing gastrointestinal issues or compromising your immune system.
Functional Markers: The test assesses various functional markers related to digestion, absorption, and inflammation. This can help uncover underlying issues that might be affecting your gut health and overall health.
Nutritional Insight: The GI Map can offer insights into how well your body is absorbing and utilizing nutrients, which can be crucial for addressing deficiencies and optimizing your diet.
Personalized Recommendations: Based on the results of the GI Map, healthcare professionals can develop personalized recommendations to support your gut health. These recommendations may include dietary modifications, probiotics, prebiotics, and other interventions.
Tracking Progress: If you choose to retest after making changes, the GI Map can help track the effectiveness of interventions and treatments over time.
It's important to note that the GI Map should be interpreted by a qualified healthcare practitioner who can help you understand the results in the context of your overall health. The test results can provide valuable insights into potential imbalances or issues within your gut, allowing you and your healthcare provider to work together to create a targeted plan for improving your gut health and overall well-being.

The timeframe for experiencing results may vary depending on individual circumstances. As a Functional Health Practitioner, I aim to identify the underlying causes of your health concerns and develop a personalized plan to address them. Factors such as the complexity of your health issues, your commitment to the recommended protocols, and your body's unique response can influence how quickly you notice improvements.
While some individuals may observe changes within a few weeks, others may require more time for noticeable results. It is important to remember that healing is a gradual process, and sustainable improvements often occur over time. I will work closely with you, monitoring your progress and making adjustments as necessary to optimize your health journey.
Please keep in mind that the information provided here is general, and individual results may vary. It's always best to consult directly with a qualified practitioner to discuss your specific situation and expectations.
Nope! I work with people all over the United States. Depending on your location, some testing and/or supplements may not be available, but I do my best to find alternatives
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® is a holistic approach to health that focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of health issues rather than just treating symptoms. Unlike traditional medicine, which often relies on medication to manage symptoms, FDN practitioners use specialized lab tests and assessments to identify imbalances and dysfunctions in the body's systems. FDN practitioners then develop personalized protocols that aim to restore balance and optimize overall health.
